Brussels Beer
As you will soon discover on a visit to this beautiful city, there are numerous different types of Brussels Beer that one can try. Along
with locally made beers known as Gueuze's there are also those that have been flavoured using fruits. Some of the more common
fruit beers you are likely to find are flavoured using cherries, raspberries and peaches.
The other most well known beer to be found in the city of Brussels is that known as Lambic beers. These are actually still being
produced at the Gueuze Museum and does not same have the acidity levels that other more mature beers you may have tried have.
There are many different types of Lambic beer that one can try during a stay in the city; the most common of these are the Faro or Fruit
Lambics. Both are rather sweet tasting because of the ingredients that are used to make them. For example, the Faro version is
sweetened to give its taste using sugar candy before it is placed into champagne bottles before it is allowed to mature further.
As for the Fruit Lambics, these ones contain large amounts of fruit in them and which once added are allowed infusing with the beer for
several months, before they are ready to be drunk. It is the balance of the fruits sweetness along with the sourness of the actual Gueuze
beer that makes this one of the most refreshing drinks you are likely to come across.
