Brussels Shopping
When it comes to Brussels, shopping there is so much to actually choose from but not all of it is cheap. Along with some of the more
well-known chain stores in the city, there are also plenty of designer stores to be found as well. However, if you are looking for
reasonably priced goods then avoid those that are located in the center of the town and head out to towards the areas of St Gilles, Ixelles and
Uccle to do your shopping.
When it comes to shopping in Brussels be aware that very few shops open before 10.00 am and you can expect large numbers to not open until
nearer 10.30 or 11.00. In addition, unlike in the UK most shops are closed on a Sunday and on a Monday as well.
But as well as being able to shop for some great clothes items there are plenty of other beautiful market places that you may want to visit
just for a look around. As well as the more traditional locally, grown produce markets the city; also have bird, horse, flower and antique
markets as well.
Another great place to visit when it comes to shopping in this city is the Galeries Saint Hubert-Sint (Hubertusgalerijen). This is the
worlds first every shopping mall and was originally opened to the public back in 1847. Along with boutiques in this mall, you will discover
bookshops, cafes and restaurants as well as a theatre and cinema. So it is great for the guys as well as the girls, simply because they men
can go and have a beer whilst the women are off shopping.
