Brussels Transport
When it comes to getting round the city of Brussels, transport options are numerous. You have the choice of either getting on the metro
or a tram or you could hop on any one of the numerous buses. Moreover, there are plenty of taxis to be hailed if you need to get somewhere
quickly.
However if you are someone who would like to move around the city at your own pace you can either walk or why not hire a bicycle
instead. If you want, you can actually hire a bicycle through companies such as Pro Velo (who have their own website). The cost
of hiring bicycles from them is around £7.50 for a days hire. However, they also can organize tours of the city for you on their bikes and
arrange to have some providing you with commentary in English as well.
Yet the most efficient and quickest way of getting round this city is by using the Metro. The main advantage of this service is that not
only can it take you to many of the more important locations within the city but can take you out to some of the other suburbs that make up
Brussels. The metro stations are easily identifiable as they all have a sign outside which is blue with a large white letter M on
them.
The cost of traveling on any of the different forms of public transport within the city of Brussels is not as expensive as one might
expect. You can actually pick up a day, which allows you to use all forms of public transport for about £2.50 ($4.75 or
€1.40).
