Euro Disney Paris
Euro Disney Paris is located in a new town that is around 20 miles (32km) from the heart of the French capital. It is actually to be
found in a place called Marne-la-Vallee and the resort itself contains two theme parks, seven hotels and an entertainment region.
Although the park has been, open for just over 15 years now it has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Europe
today. Yet in the beginning and still now people refer to this resort as Euro Disney Resort, Paris, however, in 1995 it was actually
renamed Disneyland Paris.
As mentioned the resort contains two theme parks the first being Disneyland Park (Paris) and which looks very similar to those to be found in
both California, Florida and Tokyo. The second theme, which did not open its gates to the public until March 2002, is known as Walt Disney
Studios Park.
With the opening of the Walt Disney Studios Park the size of the site increased by a further 27 hectares. This has now made
Euro Disney Paris one of the largest of all the theme parks in Europe now.
However, not everything was rosy for the Park when first being built, as there were many people who opposed the building. In fact, many
believed that they were right as during the first couple of years attendance at the part and hotel were below what was being projected. Yet
since then things have changed and as mentioned, it has now become one of Europe's top tourist attractions.
