Travel on Eurostar Ghent

Travelling by Eurostar to Ghent is far easier than you would have first imagined possible.  Yet although you need to change trains in Brussels from Eurostar to SNCB, you can still be in this quaint Belgium city in just over 3 hours.

The actual journey time from leaving London St Pancras International and arriving at Ghent St Pieter's station takes around 3 hours and 10 minutes to complete.  This journey time includes you changing trains on your arrival in Brussels.  But to learn more about the actual timetable a quick look at the Eurostar website will assist you.

The station in Ghent itself is established about 2.5km from the city center but there are plenty of ways for you to get to it.  You can rent a bike either once you reach the station or you can take a tram instead.

Once in the city you can enjoy all that the city can offer you from wandering around its cobbled streets or just ambling along beside the canals that wind through it.  But why not take in some of the cities medieval architecture including the Saint Niklaas Church or Saint Bavo Cathedral.

However if you would prefer to just relax and enjoy the sights and sounds by the water then take a leisurely water boat ride instead.  As for the evenings, why not sit back, relax in one of the many cafes and bars in the city, and enjoy a glass of the local made fruity beer.  So why not hop on the Eurostar to Ghent trains and enjoy everything that this very beautiful but old city has to offer.
