Jobs in Brussels
There are numerous different types of jobs in Brussels that one can do and for EU members all one requires is a valid passport or a valid ID
Card. However, if you are looking to stay and work in Brussels for more than 3 months then one will need a resident permit card.
Along with having the right permit card, a person wishing to take up gainful employment in Brussels needs to declare that they are a resident
of the city as well. This declaration can either be made to the local authority in Brussels or at a police station. However, such a
declaration must have been made within 8 days of them arriving in the city.
However, for those who are not members of the European Union (EU) then they not only have to have a valid visa but also the requisite work
permit as well. Again just as with EU members those wishing to seek employment for longer than a 3 month period need to register their
residency at either the local authorities office or at a police station.
Many students will travel from across Europe to work in this city during the summer months, as there are plenty of jobs available. Some
will prefer to work in hotels, bars or restaurants during this time, whilst others may prefer to work in shops. But wherever they work they
get a chance to not only mix with the residents of this city but all the tourists that flock to it each year.
Many people are now commuting to Brussels from London with the Eurostar Brussels train.
