Train to Brussels

Let the train to Brussels take the strain for you and so give you a great start to a weekend away.  The city itself has three main train stations and for those travelling from the UK on Eurostar arrives at Brussels Zuid.  This particular station is located to the south of the heart of the city.

Originally, the journey from London (Waterloo) to Brussels normally took around 2 hours 30 minutes to complete.  However, since the move over to London (St Pancras International Station) the journey has been shortened by around 15 minutes.  This is because the trains are actually able to reach the higher speeds that it was designed for much more quickly.

The great thing about booking your ticket through Eurostar to travel to Brussels is that you will find that they are valid for use on all internal train journeys in Belgium.  Therefore, you can then travel to other parts of this country at no extra cost to you.  With tickets starting for as little as 40 Euros, these are a great way to see more of Belgium than you thought possible.

But if you have more time on your hands then do not restrict your train travel to just going from London to Brussels, instead why not venture further a field.  For example, after reaching Brussels why not take the high-speed Thalys train service to either Cologne or Amsterdam as well.  In fact, there is an hourly train service that leaves from Brussels Zuid, Brussels Central and Brussels North station each day to Amsterdam and this journey takes just under 3 hours to complete.
